Returns & Refunds

Guns & Gear wants customers to feel confident when ordering firearms, accessories, and other products from our store. Because firearms are regulated items, returns and refunds are handled differently than general retail merchandise. Please review this policy carefully before placing an order.

Firearm Sales & Transfers

Firearms must be transferred in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Customers are responsible for making sure the firearm they purchase is legal to own in their state, county, city, or local jurisdiction.

Guns & Gear is not responsible for customers purchasing firearms, magazines, accessories, or other items that are not legal in their state or local area. For firearms shipped to another FFL, legality and transfer eligibility are left to the discretion of the receiving FFL.

If you are unsure whether a firearm or item is legal in your area, please contact your receiving FFL before placing your order.

Firearms Transferred Through Another FFL

If a firearm is shipped to a different FFL and the receiving FFL has already completed the transfer to the customer through Form 4473, the customer has taken legal possession of the firearm.

Once the firearm transfer has been completed and the customer has taken ownership, Guns & Gear will not accept a return of that firearm.

It is very important that customers inspect the firearm and packaging at the receiving FFL before completing the transfer and taking ownership. If there is visible damage, shipping damage, missing items, or a concern with the firearm, do not complete the transfer until the issue has been addressed.

Once the transfer is completed, any manufacturer defects, warranty claims, or product issues must be handled directly with the manufacturer unless otherwise stated by Guns & Gear.

Inspect Before Accepting Transfer

Before completing Form 4473 and accepting ownership of a firearm at your receiving FFL, please inspect:

  • The firearm

  • The packaging

  • Any visible shipping damage

  • Included accessories or magazines

  • Model, caliber, and item details

  • Overall condition

If something appears incorrect, damaged, or concerning, notify the receiving FFL before completing the transfer.

Completing the transfer confirms that you have accepted ownership of the firearm.

Firearms Purchased for Local Pickup at Guns & Gear

For local customers who purchase a firearm from Guns & Gear and have it delivered to our store for pickup, Guns & Gear offers a lifetime warranty on those firearms.

This local lifetime warranty applies only to firearms purchased through Guns & Gear and delivered to our store for local pickup.

This warranty does not apply to firearms shipped to another FFL for transfer outside of Guns & Gear.

No Nationwide Firearm Warranty

Guns & Gear does not offer nationwide firearm warranties on firearms shipped to other FFL dealers.

If a firearm is transferred through another FFL and there is a manufacturer defect, mechanical issue, missing part, or warranty concern after the transfer is completed, the customer must contact the manufacturer directly for warranty service.

Guns & Gear is not responsible for manufacturer defects on firearms that have already been transferred through another FFL.

Manufacturer Defects

Manufacturer defects are handled by the firearm or product manufacturer. This may include issues such as mechanical defects, factory defects, missing parts, finish defects, or product malfunctions.

If you believe your item has a manufacturer defect, please contact the manufacturer directly for warranty instructions, repair options, or replacement procedures.

Non-Firearm Returns

Returns for non-firearm items may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Items must generally be unused, unopened, in original packaging, and in resellable condition.

Some items may not be eligible for return, including but not limited to:

  • Used items

  • Opened or installed parts

  • Special orders

  • Clearance items

  • Ammunition

  • Firearms already transferred to the customer

  • Items damaged after delivery

  • Items restricted or prohibited in the customer’s location

Please contact Guns & Gear before attempting to return any item.

Shipping Damage

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible. For firearms shipped to another FFL, inspect the firearm and packaging before completing the transfer.

Do not complete the firearm transfer if there is obvious shipping damage or a concern with the item. Once the firearm is transferred through Form 4473 and ownership is accepted, Guns & Gear cannot accept a return of that firearm.

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, contact Guns & Gear as soon as possible. Orders that have already shipped may not be eligible for cancellation.

Special orders, distributor orders, or orders already in transit may be subject to restrictions, fees, or may not be cancelable depending on the status of the order.

Legal Restrictions

Customers are responsible for understanding and following the laws that apply in their state and local jurisdiction. Guns & Gear is not responsible for orders placed for firearms, magazines, accessories, or other items that cannot legally be owned, received, transferred, or possessed by the customer.

If an item cannot be transferred by the receiving FFL due to legal restrictions, failed background check, customer ineligibility, or local restrictions, additional fees, shipping charges, restocking fees, or other costs may apply.
